Fellowships for UC Carbon Neutrality and Global Food Initiatives
UC is a national leader in sustainability and has pledged to become carbon neutral by 2025, becoming the first major university to commit to this goal. UC President Napolitano created the Global Climate Leadership Council (GCLC) to advise her on how to achieve the Carbon Neutrality goal for the UC System. President Drake has recognized the value of the Council and has continued rely on the Council for guidance.
Every year, UCOP funds the GCLC recommended Carbon Neutrality Initiative and the Global Food Initiative with Carbon Neutrality Initiative (CNI) Fellowships and Global Food Initiative (GFI) Fellowships to fund research projects across the University of California’s ten campuses.
Announcing FY23 fellowships!
We are excited to announce the recruitment of the FY22-23 CNI and GFI fellowship year. The purpose of these fellowships is to engage the entire university community in seeking out the best practices, policies and technology to achieve carbon neutrality and to advance teaching and research in climate change and sustainability. These fellowships provide a $4000 stipend and are open to those currently enrolled in a degree program, residency, fellowship, or postdoc program in the Graduate Division or the professional schools at UCSF. Both Engagement fellowships will receive an additional $1000 in funding for food, giveaways, and incentives to engage their target audience.
